Basic Military Riding (BMR) is a groundbreaking, one-of-a-kind online horse-training curriculum that sets forth, explains, and proves the time-tested methods of the classical masters and military cavalries worldwide.
"Established by reason; justified by experience..." means it's proven. This is horsemanship. BMR develops horses and riders who are calm, forward-thinking, straight-moving, and highly teachable—whether as working equines for law enforcement and stock handling, or elite horse sports like showjumping, eventing, dressage, and Working Equitation. Even the dedicated pleasure rider will find a true, lasting partnership through the forward-riding system.

Jane Frizzell assembled and operates BMR. As its administrator and custodian, she is one of the rare finished riders in the world—trained and tested by a cavalry chief, Major Anders Lindgren of Strömsholm, Sweden.
What she teaches holds up to the standards of the great military riding schools: Fort Riley, Saumur, Warendorf, Tor di Quinto, and Vienna. Take your pick.
Have you double-checked your program to verify it conforms to the standards of Fort Riley, Saumur, Warendorf, Tor di Quinto, and Vienna?
Because that’s what your riding and horsemanship must hold up against.
This is the easiest, simplest, most durable, and most effective system ever developed. This is riding.
Which way do you want to ride?

Basic Military Riding Curriculum
Start with the Pre-Requisites. "Prepare and allow" is a maxim we actually use. Basic Military Riding training begins with preparation for understanding—the foundation of self-carriage, forward-thinking, and the 4 Natural Aids.
